A New Revenue Stream for Producers
Piñon Midstream opens the door for producers to fully develop their assets that were previously constrained by sour gas in Lea County, New Mexico, and Winkler and Loving counties in Texas.
Piñon Midstream opens the door for producers to fully develop their assets that were previously constrained by sour gas in Lea County, New Mexico, and Winkler and Loving counties in Texas.
Oil and gas producers who partner with Piñon Midstream to gather and treat their sour gas will meaningfully contribute to their respective ESG programs by participating in the carbon capture and sequestration operations provided by the Dark Horse facility.
The Dark Horse Sour Gas Treating and Carbon Capture Facility in the Northeastern Delaware Basin includes sour condensate stabilization, an amine treating plant and an 18,000-foot CO2 and H2S sequestration well. To bring the sour gas to our facility, we’re building a high-spec sour gas gathering pipeline with over 30,000 horsepower of field compression. We’re also building a new 20-mile, 20-inch pipeline to transport sweet/rich gas to multiple third-party processing plants.
We’ve engineered and designed our facilities to the highest N.A.C.E. specifications so that we can gather and treat any concentration of sour gas coming from the wellhead.
The Dark Horse facility removes both CO2 and H2S from the incoming gas stream and sequesters the gases in rock formations 18,000 feet below the surface, benefiting local air quality and mitigating the harmful effects of carbon dioxide on Earth’s climate.
